Why is relaxing so difficult?

It plagues modern society, and we are scheduled to the hilt!

Relaxation is one of the best things you can do for your mind and body. In the USA, we tend to go, go ,go, not taking time to slow down and have "siestas" as our friends in other parts of the world do. Whether you are in Mexico, South America or across Europe and beyond, things shut down mid to late day, giving a breather to all and then allowing people to get recharged for the night ahead.


Relaxation is very underrated, but important for your mental and physical health. Even when they have the opportunity, some people find it hard and can't seem to relax. According to Psychology Today, scientific research suggests that when we stress about relaxing... e simply can not actually let go enough. You may be having troubles enjoying your time off because you are working too hard at relaxing!


Some easy ways to relax can be giving yourself some "you" time, whether that looks like a simple walk in nature, a yoga class or meditation and quiet time; or however you choose to destress and quiet the mind. Restorative yoga, in particular, is great for releasing stress, tension and clearing your mind. This practice brings the focus on you and solely you, and your breath connecting with your body.
